The HUB4700 calibre is the successor to the legendary El Primero calibre – the first chronograph with integrated automatic winding (1969), which was simultaneously the first mechanical chronograph with a frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 semi-oscillations per hour) and thus enabled a precision of 1/10th of a second. In perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, this fully skeletonized movement is today equipped with a silicon oscillator that ensures cutting-edge performance, precision, and reliability.

From the first use of rubber in watchmaking to the development of innovative precious alloys such as scratch-resistant Magic Gold, through to the creation of revolutionary composite materials such as ceramic and sapphire in exclusive colors – materials have always been at the heart of the Hublot universe. To realize its 'Art of Fusion,' the Manufacture operates its own metallurgy and materials laboratory, working closely with the research and development department, as well as its own foundry. These innovative materials are developed and crafted using the most advanced technologies, unique within the watchmaking industry – technologies that are exclusively created and perfected by Hublot.
